Annual Summer Workshop
JCYAT offers an annual workshop for students age six to eighteen. Participants learn skills including stage basics, movement, projection, diction, characterization, prop zoning, and improvisation. Activities take place at the theatre and some offsite locations, including Starve Hollow SRA.
We’ve been able to provide our workshop free of charge thanks to the generous support of state and local groups. Seymour Tri Kappa was the first to fund our program with their generous gift in the summer of 2015. Since then, our program has been free of charge thanks to the Art in the Park Grant through the Indiana Arts Commission and Department of Natural Resources. We’d like to thank these groups for their generous support.
Plays and Performances
Workshop participants have the opportunity to audition for the summer production on the last day of the workshop. The production includes several performances at our theatre, and as part of the Art in the Park Grant, a performance at Starve Hollow SRA.
Details about our 2018 workshop will be announced in the spring. Registration for the workshop fills up very quickly, so be sure to follow us on social media and join our mailing list for the most up to date information!
