Elwood P. Dowd

Warm, gentle man who believes his best friend is an invisible rabbit named Harvey; kind and whimsical.

Dr. William R. Chumley

Male | 50s–70s | Supporting
Distinguished psychiatrist, proud and intelligent, but easily flustered when challenged.

Dr. Lyman Sanderson

Male | 20s–40s | Supporting
Ambitious young doctor, confident and professional, with a soft spot for Nurse Kelly.

Judge Omar Gaffney

Male | 50s–70s | Supporting
Family friend and local judge; practical, protective, and loyal to the Dowds.

Wilson

Male | 20s–30s | Supporting
Gruff but good-hearted orderly at Chumley’s Rest; provides comic tension.

E.J. Lofgren (Taxi Driver)

Male | 30s–60s | Cameo
Straightforward cab driver with surprising wisdom; delivers an insightful final monologue.

Veta Louise Simmons

Elwood’s excitable sister; socially ambitious, dramatic, and easily flustered.

Elderly society matron; outspoken and old-fashioned, adds humor to early scenes.

Anyone wishing to work on the production in an offstage capacity (lights, sound, set building, painting, ushering, costuming, etc.) is welcome to attend auditions, or to contact JCCT at 812-358-JCCT or email: mail@jcct.org.

Unless the director specifies otherwise, no preparation is needed for auditions. However, those trying out should bring a list of dates which might conflict with rehearsals. Jackson County Community Theatre is found at the Royal Off-the-Square Theatre, 121 W. Walnut St., Brownstown.
