JCCT Accepting Directors’ Proposals

Interested in directing a play or musical at Jackson County Community Theatre? We’d love to hear from you—whether you have a specific title in mind or you simply want to step into the director’s chair.

There are four productions in the mainstage theatre season. The Season Selection Committee tries to balance the season with comedies, dramas, musicals, and mysteries. Plays proposed should be of appropriate content for the community.

The mainstage season begins with a show in the summer, usually in September. The second play is typically a holiday themed show presented in late November to early December. The third production is the dinner theatre in February. The season ends with a production in late April and/or early May.

Directors submitting proposals should indicate their preferred dates.

If you’d like to direct but don’t have a specific play in mind, email us at seasonselection@jcct.org to learn about shows currently under consideration that need directors.

Season & Selection Timeline

We stage four mainstage productions each season.

Jackson County Community Theatre’s Season Selection Committee is happy to accept proposals for future seasons at any time. Although there is not a hard deadline for proposals, we encourage directors to submit them by the fall of each year, as we typically finalize plans for the next season during the winter months.

How to Submit

Please complete our online Director Proposal Form (no emails or attachments required).

We’re also seeking Production Managers to partner with directors on logistics from planning and rehearsals through performances. If you’re interested, send us an email at seasonselection@jcct.org.
